1lbfirm ripe tomatoesor grape or cherry tomatoes of various colors make a lovely show
A few slices of a mild onion or chives
1tablespoonchopped fresh parsley
Basil Vinaigrette Dressing
½cupolive oil or avocado oil
2teaspoonfresh lemon juice
2tablespoonred wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar
1teaspoonmaple syrup or honeymore if needed
3tablespoonfinely chopped basil leaves
1clovegarlic minced
½teaspoonsalt
¼teaspoonfreshly ground black pepper

Instructions
Make the dressing first by mixing the oil, lemon juice, vinegar, and maple syrup or honey in a bowl with a whisk until well blended and lemony colored.
Then stir in the basil, garlic, salt, and pepper, and let sit on the counter while you prepare the salad base and the rest of the meal.
Wash and slice tomatoes in half through the width if using small tomatoes or cut larger ones in wedges.
Place them in a bowl that you will serve the salad in.
Place a few onion rings or chopped chives over the top of the tomatoes and sprinkle with the parsley.
Just before serving drizzle the dressing over the tomato salad base and stir well.
Notes
Prepare your vegetables and the dressing, but keep them separate until serving.
