❤️About This Recipe

You can use Sole fillets for this plaice fillet recipe as they are ideal for an easy quick meal. Plaice fillets can also be substituted in this recipe Classic Sole Meuniere.

I love both plaice and sole so I can recommend them for an easy quick lunch or dinner. Both types of fish have a mild flavor with white meat making them good substitutes for one another.

Plaice is high in protein, and low in fat and carbohydrates. It is a good source of healthy omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D, and it has a high content of selenium.

If you have asked, "How do you fry fish?" then just follow this recipe for a quick and easy scrumptious meal for the whole family.

📝Ingredient List

  • plaice or sole
  • butter and olive oil
  • lemon juice
  • parsley
  • seasoned flour

🔢Instructions

  1. Wipe and dry the fish fillets.
  2. Dip the fish in the seasoned flour and cover lightly.
  3. Heat the butter and oil in a heavy-bottomed pan.
  4. When the butter is foaming turn the heat down and put the fish in the pan.
  5. Cook for about 3 minutes then turn the fish over and cook the other side until golden brown. This is also a similar pan fry method as cooking scallops.
  6. Put the fish on a hot dish, drizzle with lemon juice, and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
  7. At this stage quickly wipe out the pan add 1oz butter to the hot pan and heat until it turns brown.
  8. Quickly pour over the fish and serve!
