A cheese omelette or Omelette au Fromage is probably one of the most popular of omelettes as it is so easy and very tasty. And almost everyone loves cheese!ย

Omelette au Fromage

This is a wonderfully tasty cheesy omelette that is good for a light meal on it's own or with a French green salad and crusty bread. It is so easy and simple to make as it only calls for one tablespoon of cream for every two eggs, but what really makes it special is the parmesan and gruyere cheese, although cheddar is good too!

Your cheese omelette au fromage is a really great meal - fast and nourishing and one that is a good standby if anyone arrives at your home unexpected and you want a quick recipe.

If you don't have the French cheese you can always use a good hard cheese you may have in your refrigerator such as a good cheddar. It will still be delicious.

In some parts of France it is traditional to make giant size omelettes and they make this event into an annual festival. If you are intrigued by traditional French ways of serving food in a festive style, then try this raclette cheese recipe, it makes an easy dinner party idea!.

In the south of France, in a small town called Saint Aygulf, near St Tropez, they have a festival every year where they make the most enormous omelette. They say it takes 14,000 eggs and 3kilograms of butter to make this enormous omelette and when it is made, it will feed 4,000 people!

I am not sure I would like to make one as large as this, it probably takes many cooks to do this, but it would be very interesting to see one being made!

A cheese omelette or Omelette au Fromage is probably one of the most popular of omelettes as it is so easy and very tasty - and of course almost everyone loves cheese!

This French omelette recipe really is one of the best recipes for this one. With a little cream added at the end of the cooking, it's just a dream!

You don't have to add the cream if you are worried about too much fat in your diet but if you only have it on occasions, it is a special treat!

Once you have mastered the basics for making the plain or savory ones, this is an extra special treat for everyone at any time of day or night!
