Off Piste Recipes
Global Flavors Beyond French Cooking! Welcome to my little culinary detour, the place where I slip off the well-marked French table and follow flavor wherever it leads.
Think of Off Piste as the cozy corner of Love French Food, where the dishes reflect the way real home cooks actually eat with knives, spoons, and maybe "chopsticks" firmly planted on a beautifully set table.
After all, some sources say there are upwards of 13,000 Asian restaurants in France! So, to have a buffet offering Indian Shrimp Curry, or Indian Beef Curry, a Simple Lamb Curry Recipe, or Ground Beef Curry Keema Matar from the courts of Mughal India is quite common.
Many are from Asian cuisines, and then there are a few like the 1953 famous Coronation Chicken Salad created for the new Queen Elisabeth's coronation luncheon, and a delicious French Canadian Meat Pie Recipe.
French cuisine will always be my anchor, my first love, my compass. But like any good cook, I'm also shaped by travel, neighbours, cravings, and the irresistible pull of a good curry bubbling on the stove.
So, wander with me. Let's go off piste together - it's delicious out here!
